The six bus licence classes

1. Bas Berhenti-Henti (Stop Bus) — repeated runs along an APAD-approved route with tiered fares at designated stops.
2. Bas Ekspres (Express Bus) — Economy and Executive service types; routes under 32 km without fare stages.
3. Bas Pengantara (Feeder Bus) — circular service within a 7 km radius from a fixed base.
4. Bas Sekolah (School Bus) — exclusive use for school students or staff.
5. Bas Pekerja (Worker Bus) — employee shuttle to and from workplaces.
6. Bas Carter (Charter Bus) — entire bus hired for a single trip ("disewa seluruhnya bagi satu perjalanan").

Bas Persiaran (cruise / sightseeing buses) operate as tourism vehicles and are licensed under the tourism vehicle category.
