E-Hailing driver requirements

To drive on a licensed e-hailing platform, the driver must satisfy all of the following:

  1. Malaysian citizen — non-citizens are not permitted to drive on Malaysian e-hailing platforms.
  2. Registered with a licensed E-Hailing Operator (e.g. Grab, AirAsia ride, etc. — see APAD's current licensed-operator list).
  3. Valid Public Service Vehicle (PSV) vocational licence from Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan (JPJ).
  4. Vehicle with a valid eVP (E-Hailing Vehicle Permit) issued by APAD.

Driving without these credentials may result in penalties under the Land Public Transport Act 2010.
